BMI is now flying passengers from India back to the UK after Comtel Air cancelled all flights

Passengers flying from India to the UK had to cover fuelling costs when Austrian airline Comtel Air made a pit stop in Vienna to refuel.

Customers were told to pay a total of £20,000 (€23,400) or they would not be able to continue their journey from Austria to Birmingham. The flight started in Amritsar, India.

Those who did not have enough money were let outside Vienna airport one by one to withdraw cash. Other passengers were left stranded in India after Comtel Air cancelled some flights.
